P. Scott Phillips

Scott practices primarily in the area of civil litigation and health care law and is licensed to practice law in the states of Mississippi and Arkansas. He has significant experience representing employers in employment related litigation, including defense of claims arising under Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Equal Pay Act and actions alleging violations of civil rights under Section 1983. Scott has experience handling all types of civil litigation, including representation of hospitals and other health care professionals in medical malpractice and nursing home neglect cases, will contests, suits involving eminent domain and commercial issues.  Scott has experience representing creditors in United States Bankruptcy Court.  Scott’s health care practice consists of a multitude of issues which arise in his service as board counsel of the largest hospital in the Mississippi Delta.  He also handles cases involving motor vehicle accidents, premises liability and commercial disputes, and handles matters of real property and probate on an on-going basis.  Scott represents clients in state courts throughout the states of Mississippi and Arkansas, as well as in the United States District Courts in Mississippi and Arkansas. He is also licensed to appear before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.
